From the publisher: Six accomplished poets―Guillermo Castro, Amy Lemmon, Katrinka Moore, Joan Lauri Poole, Elizabeth Poreba, and Sarah Stern―demonstrate the power of a writing community.

Praise for This Full Green Hour

While reading This Full Green Hour, I was reminded of the British anthropologist Gregory Bateson who wrote, “It takes two to know one.” I imagined him with this anthology in his hands, thinking, “It takes six to know something this fierce!” The poems of Castro, Lemmon, Moore, Poole, Poreba, and Stern riff off one another most delightfully through subject matter and syntax. The poems echo, mirror, reverse, interrupt each another, building multiple identities and threads. These Magnificent Six have accomplished something amazing a dynamic and tangential conversation through poems, each voice intelligent, nuanced, distinct.

DENISE DUHAMEL

A disarmingly playful spirit of generous camaraderie is at the heart of this anthology. Boldly, it intersperses the work of six distinctive poets in such a way that we not only get to know the individual voices, but are also let in on their poetic conversation. At times serene, “the way the small black birds / sit at the ends / of the bare branches / pretending to be leaves”—at times surreal, “With the dexterity / Of a well-toned myth” this hour is indeed a full one.
